COLLECTION I

What changes when we move closer, shift our perspective or stay a little longer?

Created from just two photographs, noticing is an exploration of what can be found when we return to what we think we've already seen.

ABOUT THE STUDY

Black-and-white portrait of artist and photographer Demri Rayanne.

I’m naturally drawn to what’s next — a new idea, a different perspective, something I haven't seen before. Noticing became an exercise in doing the opposite.

The collection began with just two photographs. I cropped, reframed + returned to them again and again, allowing small details, shapes + fragments to become compositions of their own.

What started as a creative experiment became a study in limitation. Instead of looking for more, I began exploring how much could exist within what I already had.

What emerged feels somewhere between photography and abstraction. Each work comes from the same two photographs, while transforming into something entirely its own.
